Dear Friends,
"Brothers and Sisters….Do everything for the Glory of God"
Corinthians 10:31
When we discuss the ministries and future of the Church in east
river South Dakota we do so with hope and with a desire to "do
everything for the glory of God".
God, our creator and our destiny, calls us to find ways to
respond to the needs of his people and to be supportive where we
can. In these challenging times, Christ’s message and the
ministries provided by the Church are more important the ever.
Through your support of Catholic Family Sharing Appeal, we are
able to support the ministries of the larger church that are
beyond the resources of any one parish: each month The Bishop’s
Bulletin reaches approx. 37,900 households. For many it is the
only Catholic material received. The Office of Pastoral Planning
is currently studying new and sure effective ways that the faith
can be lived and passed on to all the people of the prairie.
Catholic Family Services reaches out to those in need with
counseling services in 15 locations. The Office of Vocations
continues to invite men and women to discern their vocation to
the priesthood and religious life – and to direct their
education and formation.
Catholic Family Sharing Appeal is critical to the ministry of
the Church in eastern South Dakota. I am deeply grateful for
your past support of CFSA and ask for your continued
participation. Thank you for your generous gifts of time, talent
and financial resources that you share with your parish
communities and the diocese.
Please prayerfully consider a gift to the 2009 Catholic Family
Sharing Appeal. To do so is one important way you can give glory
to God. Give Praise to the Lord.
Sincerely,
Bishop Paul J.
Swain
